The Michigan Iron Industry Museum in Negaunee Township will offer guided bike tours along the Iron Ore Heritage Trail on Saturday, July 7 and Sunday, July 8 beginning at 10:30 a.m. each day. Registration deadline for the tours is Thursday, July 5.
The leisurely tours will begin and end at trailhead #7 on the Iron Ore Heritage Trail, and include stops at “Old Towne Negaunee,” Cliffs Shaft and the Jackson Pit Mine. Tours cover approximately six miles.
A participation fee of $10 includes a picnic lunch and entry to the Cliffs Shaft Mine Museum, featuring a rock room and artifact collection. (Sunday entrance to the Cliffs museum is contingent on participation of 20 or more bicyclists.)
