Marquette– The Northern Center for Lifelong Learning will offer a tour of LP Building Products. The “Logs to Lumber: A Run through the Mill” program will begin with participants meeting on Wednesday, June 13 at 10 a.m. at the Marquette Mall parking lot.
Tour the mill to observe the process of turning logs into boards and visit the grounds of one of the forest management sites to observe the operation of harvesting trees, sorting wood products, bio-fuel chipping and loading logs onto trucks.
No photography or open-toed shoes are permitted within the mill area. Participants should bring $1 to pay for the bus ride to the site.
This class is free for NCLL members, $5 for others. Register by calling the NCLL office at 227-2979.
