Marquette – November is Native American Heritage Month and several related events are planned at Northern Michigan University.
The 11th Annual First Nations Food Taster will be held on Friday, November 4 from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Jacobetti Center.
The menu consists of traditional and contemporary Native dishes with three sisters casserole, wild rice, hominy soup, fry bread and desserts.
Tickets are available in advance at the Center for Native American Studies in Whitman Hall ($5 NMU students with ID and elders; $12 general public) or at the door ($7 NMU students with ID, children 13 and under and elders; $15 general public). Children’s tickets are available only at the door.
