Gwinn District Announces Teacher of the Year 2012

Gwinn, Michigan – At the February 20, 2012 regular meeting of the Board of Education, Gwinn Area Community Schools, Ms. Kimberly VanDrese, Superintendent, presented Mrs. Connie Sather with a plaque honoring her as District “Teacher of the Year”.

The following are quotes from Mrs. Sather’s peers who nominated her for this honor:

  • she is one of the most dedicated teachers in our District
  • her classroom is organized for her students’ optimum learning experience
  • students feel loved and individually appreciated
  • she has mastered the ability to run a classroom where students know the routines, are under control and yet having FUN while LEARNING
  • staff respect her abilities, opinions, and see her as a leader

Mrs. Sather has been employed with the Gwinn Area Community Schools since 1995 and currently teaches 3rd grade at Gilbert Elementary School.
