Marquette – The Peter White Public Library will host the second annual Genealogy Lock-in on Friday, October 21 from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. library’s second floor.
The event, in celebration of Family History Month, is free and open to anyone interested in genealogy.
Participants will enter through the west parking lot doors and leave at any time with staff assistance. Refreshments will be available.
There will be free access to Internet databases, CD-ROMs and microfilm resources. Participants may attend tutorials, learn to use the microfilm reader/printers, scan and save images, and access online databases such as Ancestry Library Edition, HeritageQuestOnline, Family Search and Seeking Michigan. Library computers or PWPL free WiFi access will be available. Marquette County Genealogical Society volunteers, National Society of Daughters of the American Revolution members and library reference staff will be on hand to provide assistance
