Make a Difference Day Service Requests Due October 7th

Marquette, Mich.—The Northern Michigan University Volunteer Center is seeking service requests from area seniors who may need assistance with raking or other small tasks on Make a Difference Day, a nationwide event that celebrates neighbors helping neighbors. The requests are due Friday, Oct. 7, and will be assigned to student and community volunteers. Those interested in helping are asked to complete a volunteer registration form by Friday, Oct. 14.

Make a Difference Day will be held on Saturday, Oct. 22. The NMU Volunteer Center is coordinating the event locally. Service request and volunteer registration forms are available online at www.nmu.edu/volunteer. Or for more information, contact the NMU Volunteer Center at 227-2466.

Last year, about 1260 volunteers participated at more than 180 sites.
