Marquette – The CineArts Film Series, devoted to foreign and independent films, will begin its fall season with a screening of “Kolya” on Friday, September 23 at 7 p.m. Friday, Sept. 23 in the Community Room of the Peter White Public Library.
“Kolya” won an Academy Award and a Golden Globe for best foreign language film. This comedy tells of a confirmed bachelor in Czechoslovakia who agrees to marry a woman in a get-rich-quick scheme and then is left with her 5-year-old son, Kolya, when she deserts the pair.
