Marquette – The Friday Film Club kicks off its first gathering with a screening of the 1994 film “The Shawshank Redemption” on Friday, September 16 at 1:30 p.m. in the Community Room of the Peter White Public Library.
The library’s newest film group offers film buffs an opportunity to enjoy modern classic movies that feature award winning performances from 1970 to the present on the library’s big screen. Light refreshments will be served and, following the film, viewers will have an opportunity to discuss their reactions to the film.
Nominated for seven Academy Awards, “The Shawshank Redemption” is rated R and runs for 142 minutes.
