Hancock – The Pine Mountain Music Festival will sponsor a free lecture “History and Conditions of the Mining Industry in the Copper Country in the Early 1900s” with Larry Lankton on Thursday, July 14 at 5 p.m. at the Jutila Center, 200 Michigan Street in Hancock.

Lankton, professor of history at Michigan Tech University, is the author of several books and articles on the area and is well-known as a popular lecturer on historical topics.
