Marquette – 8-18 Media, the youth journalism bureau of the Upper Peninsula Children’s Museum, will offer a training session for new members for its Marquette and Ishpeming bureaus on Tuesday, June 14 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the 8-18 Media Bureau in the Upper Peninsula Children’s Museum in Marquette.
Members work in teams to produce stories on youth-related issues for Marquette Monthly and radio stations Q107-WMQT and WNMU Public Radio 90. Members choose and research topics, interview and write stories.
The Marquette bureau has a monthly meeting for all members and schedules story work on an appointment basis. The Ishpeming Bureau meets at 4 p.m. Tuesdays at the Ishpeming Carnegie Library. Arrangements can be made for students in outlying communities to participate.
