Rock – American Legion Post 559 of Rock will conduct a Flag Day ceremony on Tuesday, June 14 at 7 p.m. at the Rock Veterans Memorial. Flags will be distributed to children.
The program will open with the national anthem performed by Doris Wodrich and a flag raising. After a prayer and the Pledge of Allegiance, unserviceable flags will be disposed of. Post Adjutant Allan Jokela, retired Lt. Col., USAF, will present “A Salute to Rock.”
The program will conclude with Wodrich singing “God Bless America,” a salute to the colors by the honor guard and the playing of “Taps” by Allan Jokela Jr. Inclement weather site will be the Rock Lions Club.
Flags intended for disposal may be dropped off at Ray’s Automotive in Rock or brought to the ceremony.
