Marquette – The U.P. Children's Museum will host an Explainers training for ages 8 to 18 on Friday, September 5 from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday.
Pizza will be served, and a parent or caregiver must be present from 7:30 to 8 p.m.
Explainers are youth volunteers who learn about service and leadership through assisting in the museum. They help guests understand the exhibits, give input on improving exhibits, help plan and host special events, show and care for the museum's animals, assist in the museum store, and more.
The Explainers work closely with museum staff members, who serve as mentors. The program is free, and training sessions for new members are the first Friday of every month.
