Marquette – In honor of May as Mental Health month, an informational program on coping with bipolar disorder will be offered on Tuesday, May 10 at 7 p.m. in Shiras Room of the Peter White Public Library in Marquette.
Presenter Colleen Jokinen, R.N., is an In Your Own Voice presenter for the National Alliance on Mental Illness and director of the Brantley Drop In Center, a consumer-run meeting place for people coping with mental illness. She celebrates her 35 journeys of successful recovery from bipolar episodes and presents a humorous slant on her last manic episode with “Catch Me If You Can.”
This program is part of Your Mind Matters, an ongoing community dialog on mental health issues sponsored by a coalition of local community health organizations, advocacy groups, individuals and the PWPL. For more information, visit www.pwpl.info or call the library at 226-4318.
