Marquette – In celebration of May as Mental Health month, a screening of the Academy Award and Golden Globe nominated film “Patch Adams” will be held on Wednesday, May 30 at 1:30 p.m. in the Community Room of the Peter White Public Library.
Based on a true story, Patch Adams, played by Robin Williams, is a misfit, middle-aged medical student whose unconventional approach to healing causes headaches for the medical establishment but works wonders for his patients. A by-the-book medical student, played by Monica Potter, reluctantly falls in love with Patch in this touching comedy.
Released in 1998, the film is rated PG-13 and runs for 115 minutes.
