Seney – Seney National Wildlife Refuge will be conducting a series of prescribed burns this spring and summer.
These burns are done to enhance habitat for a number of species of wildlife including marshland song birds, black bears, and sharp-tailed grouse. Along with enhancing habitat for wildlife, these burns also reduce fuel loading in an effort to reduce the severity of wildfires.
Any questions, comments, or concerns can be directed to Gary Lindsay, Prescribed Fire Specialist: 586-9851 ext. 19
