Calendar – Outdoors – Lantern Lit Cross Country Ski/Snowshoe/Hike – Jan. 28

Garden – A Lantern Lit Cross Country Ski/Snowshoe/Hike will be held on Saturday, January 28 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Fayette Historic State Park in Garden.

The unique Bluff Trail will be lit with kerosene lanterns (approx. 1.5 miles of trail) for an evening of snow fun. The right side of the trail is track-set for the classic style cross country skier and to the left is groomed and packed for those with snowshoes or a hearty hiker.

A warm bonfire marks your beginning and ending points right behind the park contact station, marshmallows and hot chocolate will be provided. Dress warm and bring your own equipment. There may be a few pairs of snowshoes for event participants to borrow. For information regarding the event, contact the park at 906-644-2603.
