WESTWOOD HIGH SCHOOL PARTNERS WITH FINLANDIA UNIVERSITY

We had a chance to chat with David Boase, Principal at the Westwood High School, about a new agreement between the school and Finlandia University. Currently, the district has agreements with both NMU and Bay de Noc Community College giving students a chance to earn credits in Career and Technical Education courses at Westwood High School which can apply to select degree programs. A new agreement between the district and Finlandia University will provide Westwood students earning an ‘A’ in the school’s Algebra III/Trigonometry with 4 credits for MAT 145 College Algebra. The agreement with Finlandia to provide college credit for a core class taught in a high school is one of the first in its kind in Michigan.
