Marquette – The eighth annual Victorian style Valentine’s tea, with the theme “Romantic Inspiration and Splendor” will be held on Saturday, February 6 from 1 to 3 p.m.at First Presbyterian Church, 120 N. Front Street inMarquette.
Entry hall display cases will be available for viewing and feature authentic artifacts and reproductions of Victorian era memorabilia including angels, cherubs, dolls, miniature fashion figures and distinctive high tea accessories. Other artifacts will be exhibited throughout the reception rooms as well as in the church library.
The menu will include a variety of treats presented by chef Christopher Kibit. Guests may bring historical keepsakes and/or wear authentic or reproduction fashion items representative of the Victorian era. Prizes will be awarded.
Donations will be accepted for the benefit of the orphaned children cared for by First Presbyterian’s sister church, St. Andrew’s in Nairobi, Kenya. Parking will be available in the church lot across from the Bluff Street entrance.
