“Japanese Treasures” Exhibit – 45 years of sisterhood with Higashiomi!

“Japanese Treasures” is a special exhibition, celebrating the 45th anniversary of sisterhood between Marquette and Higashiomi, Japan featuring art, artifacts, and memories of the past 45 years from the private collection of the Marquette Area Sister Cities Partnership (MASCP) board members.

This exhibit will be on display the entire month of August at Wintergreenhill Gallery at 810 N Third St, in Marquette.

There will be a special opening reception on Wednesday July 31st, beginning at 1:30PM throughout the afternoon. Delegates from Higashiomi, including the Mayor, will be present from 1:30PM until about 3:30PM.

The artifacts, memories, and other treasures in this exhibit were curated by Jacob Darner and are on loan from the private collections of several MASCP board members. While this exhibit is only up for a month the public can find more work from the private collection on permanent display in the Peter White Public Library in Marquette.
