Focus Concepts, current owners of Bordergrill and Yoop Coop in Marquette, announces their purchase of the beloved Mama Russo’s brand. Don’t worry this doesn’t mean your favorite Mama Russo’s recipes will be lost to the big corporate types. The managing owner, Chris Conklin of Focus Restaurants Concepts states, ” We take the honor of carrying on the Russo family legacy very serious”. He emphasizes that they intend to maintain ALL of Mama Russo’s original recipes and existing catering menus items.
Focus Restaurants Concepts is employing Chef Nathan Mileski, 33 years of experience, to maintain those recipes and get back into offering large scale catering and events. Sounds exciting. Looks like we can expect more of the Mama Russo’s we love, but on a larger scale. The previous owner, John Korhonen, expressed his gratitude to the community, and endorses this change of ownership. He is expecting nothing but professionalism and quality from Focus Concepts.
