Munising 4th of July Fireworks Cancelled for 2020

After much deliberation and with heavy hearts, in light of the serious challenges presented by COVID-19, the Munising Fourth of July Committee has decided to cancel this year’s celebration. Please know this decision was not made lightly.

The holiday is special here in Munising, and while July is still two months away, the celebration requires significant planning and preparations that begin in early spring. In making the decision to cancel the 2020 festivities, which include the soap box race, fun run, parade, park activities, and fireworks, the Committee acknowledges its great responsibility for the safety of the community as well as the volunteers and vendors who make the celebration possible every year.

Better, healthier days are ahead, and the Committee is already looking forward to the 2021 celebration.
