Marquette, MI – The Marquette Board of Light & Power’s (MBLP) top priority is the health, safety, and well-being of its customers and employees. It is our responsibility to maintain safe and reliable electric service to the over 17,000 customers we serve throughout the City of Marquette and the surrounding townships.
With the recent spread of COVID-19, The Marquette Board of Light & Power has continued to adapt and implement changes necessary to guarantee our workforce remains healthy and able to respond to our community’s needs. The critical nature of the work that we perform means our employees are out in the community responding to emergency situations and conducting essential infrastructure maintenance.
If you see one of our employees in the community performing this work, we ask you to follow these guidelines:
-
Practice social distancing and DO NOT approach utility workers.
-
If a utility worker is performing work at your home or business, please always maintain a minimum of six (6) feet of distance from them.
-
If you need to talk to a customer service representative, we continue to answer telephone calls, Monday-Friday 8am-4:30pm at (906) 228-0311.
-
If you are experiencing an outage, please call our 24-hour emergency line at (906) 228-0300
The Marquette Board of Light & Power will continue to assess and monitor recommendations from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, state and local health officials, and guidance from the Federal government to ensure we are keeping the community and employees safe and with uninterrupted access to safe and reliable energy.
