State Police say that whiteout conditions as well as several traffic accidents have closed down M-28 east of Marquette until further notice. The highway is closed from Kawbawgam Road to Munising. A series of traffic accidents are currently being investigated, but no details on them are available at this time. Authorities say to use caution today if driving in the traditional lake effect snow belt areas, as high winds may affect visibility at any time.
