Marquette, MI – Repeated exposure to threatening situations, such as those in police use-of-force simulations, may alter the threat perception of participants. This will be the topic of the next Psychological Science Colloquium at Northern Michigan University, which will be held at 4 pm on Tuesday, June 18th in Weston Hall (NSF) 1302. The event is free and open to the public.
Master’s degree candidate Ellyse VanDyke will be covering the topic at the event, as she recently conducted a study which suggests that repeated exposure to the use-of-force training simulation decreases participants’ perception of threat, manifested by an overall decrease in emotional response.
