Marquette, MI – The Northern Michigan University Public Relations Student Society of America (PRSSA) chapter will be hosting the second annual Marquette Coffee Crawl on Saturday, April 20, 2019. Participants will have the option of participating during the following time slots: 8 am -10 am, 10 am – 12 pm, 12 pm – 2 pm. Proceeds from this event will be donated to the Marquette Women’s Center in support of Sexual Assault Awareness Month (SAAM).
During the Marquette Coffee Crawl, 300 participants will begin at the Upper Penninsula Children’s Museum and journey through Marquette taste testing local coffee houses’ top brews. Tickets to the Marquette Coffee Crawl are priced at $13, equivalent to the cost of one night’s stay at the Marquette Women’s Center. Upgraded ticket packages are limited and available upon purchase. PRSSA Vice-President Myah Tatay stated, “We have chosen this organization because April is Sexual Assault Awareness Month, and we would like to pair the timeliness of this event to the nationally recognized campaign. Sexual assault is a prominent issue on college campuses and in society as a whole, and we have a unique opportunity to support a local organization that helps to combat the trauma by empowering victims and survivors.”
Participating coffee shops in the Coffee Crawl include Java Bay, Cafe Allenatore, Contrast Coffee Co., The Crib, Baby Cakes Muffin Co., Velodrome Coffee Company, Cruise-N-Coffee, and Dead River Roasting.
Tickets will go on sale April 5th and can be purchased through NMU Ticketing Services at tickets.nmu.edu.
