Marquette, MI – The Science Olympiad at Northern Michigan University’s Glenn T. Seaborg Center will take place on Saturday, February 16 (weather back-up date is Saturday, Feb. 23). Each year, about 300 students from throughout the Upper Peninsula compete in 46 different Science Olympiad events. This year’s competition will take place from 9 am to 3 pm in various rooms throughout the New Science and West Science facilities. It consists of five categories: Life, Personal & Social Science; Physical Science & Chemistry; Earth and Space Science; Technology and Engineering; and Inquiry and Nature of Science.The awards ceremony will take place in Jamrich 1100 from 4-5:30 p.m. More than 100 volunteers make this event possible.
