Marquette Mountain Bike Enduro – September 29

Marquette, MI – The Terrene Tires LSGS Enduro Series presented by Liv Cycling USA/Giant Bicycles wraps up with one last day of racing, all in one day, all day long! The last stop will be a doozy, with morning and afternoon stages across the NTN South Trails, capped off with the MGS: After Dark night stage. This year all racing with be based out of the Art Neiger Pavilion at the NTN South Trailhead. Make sure to position yourself close to the action with NEW camping and cabins at the Rippling River Resort just south of the trailhead, complete with direct singletrack access to the trail network!

Racing will begin at 10 a.m. and wrap up after the night stage (with some good breaks in between). Results and awards for both the day and the season will be under the lights at the trailhead immediately after racing concludes.… Read the rest

Marji Gesick 100 – September 21-23

Marquette, MI – The Marji Gesick features 100-miles of rocks, roots, punchy climbs.  You will be self-supported. There are no race operated aid stations. GPS is required. YES, we said required. While the course is signed from beginning to end you will be expected to handle whatever adversity is thrown your way. This includes the possibility of a sign falling down, being blown down or eaten by a bear. Stuff happens and you need to be prepared for it. Road Rules apply. You will not find happy, smiling volunteers at every road crossing. In fact, there will not be any volunteers at road crossings. You are on your own.

Bring proper equipment, lights, nutrition and hydration. Don’t say we didn’t warn you. In the event of an emergency your best bet is to call 911 and hope for the best.  Nearly 60% of the field DNFs each year.… Read the rest

Tahquamenon Wilderness Canoe Race – September 15

Paradise, MI – Race day consists of two MCRA sanctioned races: an individual challenge and a team of two event. The morning starts with a 17 1/2 miles, two-person canoe race. The oarsmen and oarswomen maneuver the waters of the Tahquamenon River from the basin of the Lower Tahquamenon Falls to Lake Superior.

Registration begins at 8:00 AM at the Lower Falls Tahquamenon State Park. Participants may register for the Great Race (C-2) and the individual race (C-1) at this first registration session.

The “Great Race” starts at 9:00 AM from the Lower Falls. All participants must register prior to their event. The one person race (C-1) covers less distance, 6 1/2 miles, starting at 1:30 PM at the Tahquamenon River mouth. Paddling against the current they travel up the river half the distance then return to the river mouth. Registrations will be accepted at 10:00 AM at the river mouth.… Read the rest

2nd Annual ;5k Walk/Run – September 8

Sault Ste. Marie, MI – Walk, run or a little bit of both, it doesn’t matter! Join Hiawatha Behavioral Health for the 2nd Annual ;5k on September 8th! Proceeds to benefit the Chippewa County Suicide Prevention Committee.

We chose the ; (semicolon) as it is a familiar symbol for Suicide Prevention and has the added familiar quote: “A semicolon is used when an author could’ve chosen to end their sentence, but chose not to. The author is you and the sentence is your life.”

At 9:00 am, we will start the ;5k at the new Hiawatha Behavioral Health Psychosocial Clubhouse on the corner of Ashmun and Water Street and loop through the downtown area and back to the Clubhouse.
