Ishpeming High School Seniors Party Planning Meeting May 5

A planning meeting for the Ishpeming High School seniors all night party will be held on Monday, May 5 at 6 p.m. at the Ishpeming High School.

Volunteers are still needed to help organize the event. Parents of students in grades 9 through 12 are welcome.

Zumba Event May 5

The YMCA of Marquette County is hosting a special Zumba event on Monday, May 5 from 5:30 to 7 p.m. for ages 12 and older in celebration of Cinco De Mayo.

Zumba uses Latin and international music with dance moves to create a dynamic routine of aerobic, resistance and interval training.

A $5 minimum donation per person will be collected. All proceeds will go to the Y's Strong Kids Scholarship Program. For more information, call 227-9622.

Hiawatha Traditional Music Festival Artist in the Round

Hiawatha Music Co-op and the Oasi Gallery will sponsor Artists in the Round in conjunction with the Hiawatha Traditional Music Festival to be held July 18 through 20 at Tourist Park in Marquette.

Artists in the Round is open to all fine artists and fine crafts persons with original work only. Artists must be present at the festival.

Oasis Gallery will host the Annual Exhibit of Marquette County High School Artwork May 5 through May 31 at 130 West Washington Street in the Masonic Mall Suite U7, Marquette.

The exhibit highlights high school students' visual talent and provides them an opportunity to exhibit in a professional art gallery space and go through a juried art exhibit proceedure.

A public reception will be held on Friday, May 9 from 7 to 9 p.m. with awards being announced at 8:15 p.m.

Oasis Gallery will host the Annual Exhibit of Marquette County High School Artwork May 5 through May 31 at 130 West Washington Street in the Masonic Mall Suite U7, Marquette.

The exhibit highlights high school students' visual talent and provides them an opportunity to exhibit in a professional art gallery space and go through a juried art exhibit proceedure.

Any high school student, in grade 9 through 12, may enter up to three works of art. Work should be dropped off on Friday, May 2 or Saturday, May 3 between 11 a.m. and 4 p.m. This is a juried show by a team of jurors, so each artwork submitted may not get into the exhibit.
