Brandeis Professor Addresses HIV Vaccines at NMU March 22-23

Marquette, Mich.– Brandeis University Professor Isaac Krauss will present two distinct lectures on designing carbohydrate HIV vaccines at Northern Michigan University. The lectures are free and open to the public.

The first lecture, titled “Designing Carbohydrate HIV Vaccines Using Molecular Evolution,” will be offered at 8 p.m. Thursday, March 22, in 2904 West Science.

“Combining Organic Synthesis and Directed Evolution to Design Carbohydrate HIV Vaccines” will be offered at 1:30 p.m. Friday, March 23, in 2906 West Science. Following his Friday lecture, Krauss will provide students with information on graduate school programs.

The events are presented as a part of the Sigma Xi Scientific Research Society Distinguished Lecture Series. Krauss joined the faculty at Brandeis University in 2008 and initiated research programs in synthetic organic chemistry and the use of directed evolution as a tool to design carbohydrate vaccines.
