Marquette – The Transition Marquette County Repair Cafe will be open Saturday, March 17 from noon to 4 p.m. in the Marquette Arts and Culture Center in the lower level of Peter White Public Library.
The public is invited to bring small and medium sized items in need of repair or adjustment, such as toasters, sewing machines, clothing, lamps, electronics, and other households items. (Please no gas motors!) “Repair talent” with their tools will be available to help fix and demonstrate how the different items work. There is no charge for this service, though a $5 donation to help with expenses is encouraged.
The purpose of the Repair Cafe is to teach people how to repair their own things so they can save money and resources while diverting items out of the waste stream destined for dumps.
