SAYT Presents Peter Pan at the Forest Roberts Theater, March 15-18

MARQUETTE, Mich. – Superior Arts Youth Theater (SAYT) will present the 1954 Broadway Version of J.M. Barrie’s classic tale Peter Pan at the Forest Roberts Theater, March 15-18, 2018. This beloved family favorite features the iconic songs “I’m Flying,” “I’ve Gotta Crow,” “I Won’t Grow Up,” and “Never Never Land.” SAYT’s production is directed by Jalina McClain, with music direction by Jeff Bruning, and choreography by Jill Grundstrom.

The story begins when Peter and Tinkerbell visit the nursery of the Darling children late one night and, with a sprinkle of pixie dust, begin an unforgettable journey across the stars. In the adventure of a lifetime, the travelers come face to face with a ticking crocodile, the Lost Boys, a band of bungling pirates and, of course, the villainous Captain Hook.

SAYT’s production will feature a cast of 77 youth performers ages 3-18 years old from the Marquette area. A live orchestra and exciting special effects, including puppetry and performance flight, will also enhance the performances.

Peter Pan will be performed Thursday, March 15 at 7:00 p.m., Friday, March 16 at 7:00 p.m., Saturday, March 17 at 1:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m., and Sunday, March 18 at 1:00 p.m. at the Forest Roberts Theatre. Advance tickets are on sale now: $15.00 for adults and $9.00 for students. Tickets purchased at the door are $17.00 and $11.00. You can get tickets online at tickets.nmu.edu (there is a print at home option), by phone (906)227-1032, or in person at any NMU ticketing outlet: Berry Events Center, University Bookstore, Superior Dome, or the Forest Roberts Theatre.

SAYT is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization serving the central Upper Peninsula of Michigan that seeks to empower young people ages 3-18 through educational, performance, and technical theater opportunities.
