Catholics with developmental disabilities from across the Upper Peninsula are invited to participate in Meet the Bishop Day on Sunday, September 9 at St. Louis the King Parish, 264 Silver Creek Road, Harvey. The celebration will begin at 4 p.m., with Bishop Alexander K. Sample presiding at the liturgy. People with disabilities will serve as altar servers, readers, ushers, greeters and extraordinary ministers of holy communion. A sign language interpreter will be present to interpret the Mass for the deaf community and others who use sign language. This 14th annual celebration is also for families, guardians, caregivers and friends of people with developmental disabilities. After the liturgy, Bishop Sample will join attendees for a dinner in the parish hall. Entertainment will be provided.Those attending are asked to register by Aug. 31.
