Breaking and Entering / Larceny from Motor Vehicles Arrest Made

Marquette, Michigan – On 2-1-18 Marquette Police arrested 19 year old Marquette resident Sigurd John Utych on warrants authorized out of the Marquette County Prosecutor’s Office for six counts of Larceny from a Motor Vehicle, two counts of Breaking and Entering of a Building with Intent, one count of Larceny in a Building and one count of Safe Breaking.

The arrest is the result of joint investigation by the Marquette Police Department and the Michigan State Police Newberry Post. The arrest stems from incidents that occurred in 2016 and 2017 which included the theft of numerous LED lights and several radios being stolen from City of Marquette Public Works vehicles and two breaking and entering cases involving a local Marquette business.

Sigurd Utych was unable to post bond and was lodged at the Marquette County Sheriff Department. The total amount of the bond was set at $395,000.
