The Michigan Iron Industry Museum in Negaunee Township will hold its annual Holiday Open House on Sunday, December 2 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. There will be holiday refreshments and also book signings by local authors. Thomas Friggens, author of “No Tears in Heaven: The 1926 Barnes-Hecker Mine Disaster” will be available from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Lon L. and Lynn Emerick, authors of “Superior Peninsula,” “You Wouldn’t Like It Here: A Guide to the Real Upper Peninsula of Michigan,” “Going Back to Central” and “Lumberjack: Inside an Era in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan” will be available from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Russell M. Magnaghi, whose latest book is “Cornish in Michigan,” will be availabe from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. Sunday will also be the start of extended holiday hours: 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. weekdays through December 21.
