Northern Michigan University will host its annual “Lighting Up the Holidays” event on Thursday, November 29 from 4 to 8:30 p.m. at the University Center. The festivities will include free horse-drawn hayrides through campus, the lighting of the university's holiday tree at 6:30 p.m., pictures with Santa and books for the children. Cookies, hot chocolate and punch will be served, there will be caroling and also a dance performance. Those attending are encouraged to bring canned food items to donate to the TV^ Canathon. The NMU Bookstore will hold a holiday sale in conjunction with the event until 8 p.m. For more information, call NMU Conference and Catering Services at 227-2623.
