Marquette – The Fred Waara Chapter of Trout Unlimited will sponsor a “Fishing After Hours” program on Wednesday, January 10 at 6:30 p.m. in the Board Room of the Landmark Inn.
Speakers will be Gene Mensch, Fisheries Biologist for the Keweenaw Bay Indian Community, and Bill Mattes, Supervisor for the Great Lakes Indian Fisheries and Wildlife Commission. GLIFWC is a consortium of seven Chippewa tribes in the UP and northern Wisconsin that coordinate on fisheries and wildlife management in the Upper Midwest. KBIC and other tribes have their own hatcheries and cold water fisheries management programs, and coordinate their work with state agencies and other partners.
All who are interested in cold water fisheries and conservation are welcome, and light snacks will be served after 6 p.m.
