Baraga – The Keweenaw Bay Indian Community Office of Violence Against Women in partnership with the Baraga County Shelter Home is hosting a community-wide event to “kick-off” October— National Domestic Violence Awareness Month. “Niimigiimiwan” Dancing In The Rain will be held on Saturday, September 30 beginning at 10 a.m. at the Niiwin Akeaa Recreational Facility in Baraga.
There will be a Domestic violence Awareness Walk at 11 a.m. Small Group Workshops, a Feast, a prize raffle, 50/50 raffle and guest speaker Star Nayea will be part of the event. Feel free to bring a dish to pass for the feast.
