Negaunee – The 23rd Annual Central U.P. Safe Hunting and Shooting Youth Day will be held on Saturday, September 9 from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at the Negaunee Rod and Gun Club.
Events will include air rifle, .22 rifle, archery, shot gun, and others. All 8 and 9 year olds must be accompanied by an adult. Equipment and ammo will be provided. Archery equipment in cases will be allowed, but no personal guns will be allowed. Prizes will be awarded. Note: this event is not in lieu of a hunter’s safety course.
The event is for youth ages 8 to 16 and limited to the first 140 registrants. Registration is required by calling 475-4173. Parents who cannot attend must sign a permission slip at the clubhouse.
