Calendar – Music – 14th Annual Marquette Area Blues Festival – Sept. 1-3

Marquette – The 14th Annual Marquette Area Blues Festival will be held Friday, September 1 through Sunday, September 3 at Mattson Lower Harbor Park in Marquette.

The festival will kick off with a free concert on Friday night with Tweed Funk at 6 p.m. and Erin Jaimes and Dylan Bishop at 8 p.m.

Saturday, a ticketed event, will feature Tyler Detloff at 1 p.m., Fast Eddie’s Blues Trust at 2:30 p.m., Felix Reyes and Paul Linden at 4 p.m., Marquise Knox at 6 p.m. and Thornetta Davis at 8 p.m.

Sunday, a ticketed event, will feature The Occasions at 1 p.m., Mid-Nite Storm at 2:30 p.m., Josh Hoyer and Soul Colossal at 4 p.m., Shawn Holt and the Teardrops at 6 p.m., and Toronzo at 8 p.m.

In addition to great Blues music throughout the weekend, there will be a wide array of delicious foods, arts and crafts, interactive artist workshops, blues merchandise, and a fully stocked beverage tent with a great selection of local craft brews, imported and domestic favorites as well as a selection of wines.

Gates open at noon on Saturday and Sunday. All times and artists are subject to change. Advanced tickets are $50 for the weekend and are available through NMU EZ Tickets via phone at 227-1032. $10 daily student tickets (ages 15-23) available daily at the gate, children 14 and under are free with paid adult. Weekend passes at the gate are $50, daily tickets are $30.

The festival will take place rain or shine. Lawn chairs and blankets are welcomed for festival seating, no carry-ins will be allowed. All times are Eastern and lineup is subject to change.
