Marquette – Film fans are invited to a BYO Dinner Theater for a screening of “Silence” on Tuesday, August 15 from 6 to 8:30 p.m. in the Community Room of the Peter White Public Library.
In 17th century Japan, Catholicism is prohibited and priests banned. Despite this unwelcoming, dangerous environment, two Jesuit priests go there searching for their mentor who is rumored to have committed apostasy under torture. Guided by a Japanese fisherman, they discover a small Christian village, but are later themselves found by the Inquisitor, resulting in horrific consequences. This historical adventure is rated R and runs 2 hours and 41 minutes.
Bring your own dinner to enjoy the film in a dinner theater setting. There is no admission charge thanks to sponsorship by the Friends of the Peter White Public Library. For more information, visit www.pwpl.info or call 226-4318.
