Marquette – The first ever Swim Teal Lake: Benefit for Diabetes Swim Clinic will be held on Friday, July 28 beginning with registration at 8:30 a.m. at the Marquette Senior High School pool. The clinic will run from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
The swim clinic will focus on freestyle and open water swimming techniques. Each participant will have in water training, led by NMU Swimming and Diving coaches Heidi Voight and Matt Williams. Dry land training will be provided by AdvantEdge. There will also be information on nutrition for athletes. Plus, participants will have a chance to hear a presentation from 3 time Olympic Swimmer, Gary Hall Jr.
Space will be limited. There will be three groups: Novice (ages 9-12) with at least one year of competitive swimming), Advanced (13-18), and Masters (18 +) The cost of the clinic is $30 and all proceeds will be going to the U.P. Diabetes Outreach Network.
