Marquette – Matinee Movies Series will screen “Queen of Katwe” on Thursday, June 1 at 12:30 p.m. in the Community Room of the Peter White Public Library.
In this 2016 movie, a young Ugandan girl’s life changes when she learns how to play chess. It won 10th place in the African-Americans Film Critic’s top ten film awards, and won best family film from the Women Film Critics Circle Awards. This biographical drama is rated PG and runs 2 hours 4 minutes. Bring your own lunch and enjoy the movie in a dinner theater setting. Closed captioning will be on to ensure access for all.
