Calendar – Community – “Walk a Mile in My Shoes” Rally – May 25

Marquette – Pathways Community Mental Health will present the inaugural Marquette County “Walk a Mile in My Shoes” rally on Thursday, May 25 from 1 to 4 p.m. at the Marquette Commons, 112 S. Third Street, Marquette.

Registration will take place between 1:00 and 1:30 p.m. The event will feature live entertainment, informational booths, community speakers and healthy snacks. The one-mile walk along the bike path heading west from the Marquette Commons will begin at 1:30 p.m. The event is designed to increase awareness of the stigma associated with requesting help with mental illness and intellectual and developmental disabilities.

Creating a community where individuals feel safe and free to seek help to manage mental illness, intellectual and developmental disabilities is important. Pathways is helping to stamp out stigma one step at a time!
