Houghton – An Earth Day March for Science will be held on Saturday, April 22 beginning with hands-on science a activities and demonstrations, led by students and educators from the area, at 10:30 a.m. at the Portage Lake District Library in Houghton.
The march will begin at noon under the lift bridge, on the Houghton side, and march across the bridge, into Hancock, and back. The event will be a celebration of science, and a call to recognize the important role that science plays in all of our lives. A community action meeting, focusing on impacting policy decisions, will be held at 1 p.m. at the Portage Lake District Library
This is a community, family-friendly event. Everyone is welcome and encouraged to attend, and to share the reasons that science is important to them.
