Marquette – The World War I Film Series will screen “La Grande Illusion” on Monday, January 16 at 6:30 p.m. in the Community Room of the Peter White Public Library.
During the first World War, two French soldiers are captured and imprisoned in a German P.O.W. camp. Several escape attempts follow until they are sent to a seemingly impenetrable fortress.
“La Grande Illusion” was released in 1937, is not rated and runs for 116 minutes. The event is part of “World War I Remembered,” a community-wide commemoration of American involvement in World War I. There is no admission charge.
