Ishpeming – Local author, actor, poet, and teacher, B.G. Bradley will read from his new novel, “Winter Heart” on Wednesday, September 21 at 7 p.m. at the Joy Center, 1492 Southward Drive, Ishpeming.
“Winter Heart” is a tragic-comic contemporary novel set in the Upper Peninsula. The novel is deeply rooted in the woods and waters of the U.P. and takes philosophical, comical, and poignant, side trips into the concerns of family, mortality, religion, canine behavior, and poetry. The novel concerns the goings on of the O’Brian family, and its current patriarch, Ben, a poet and retired college professor. It is based in the fictional U.P. small college town of Hunter, Michigan.
There is no admission, but free will donations to benefit the Joy Center and the Westwood Shakespeare Company will be accepted. All those in attendance will receive a free digital copy of the novel.
