Marquette – The 13th Annual Marquette Area Blues Festival will be held Friday, September 2 through Sunday, September 4 at Mattson Lower Harbor Park in Marquette.
The festival will kick off with a free concert on Friday night with Tre and the Blue Knights at 6 p.m. and J.W. Jones at 8 p.m.
Saturday, a ticketed event, will feature Reverend Robert at 1 p.m., Sons of Legend at 2:30 p.m., The Chris Canas Band at 4 p.m., The Ghost Town Blues Band at 6 p.m. and Victor Wainwright and the Wildroots at 8 p.m.
Sunday, a ticketed event, will feature Brian Keith Wallenat 1 p.m.,Flat Broke Blues Band at 2:30 p.m., Hank Mowery and the Hawktones at 4 p.m., The Kinsey Report at 6 p.m., and Samantha Fish at 8 p.m.
In addition to great Blues music throughout the weekend, there will be a wide array of delicious foods, arts and crafts, interactive artist workshops, blues merchandise, and a fully stocked beverage tent with a great selection of local craft brews, imported and domestic favorites as well as a selection of wines.
Gates open at noon on Saturday and Sunday. All times and artists are subject to change. Advanced tickets are $45 for the weekend and are available through NMU EZ Tickets via phone at 227-1032. $10 daily student tickets (ages 15-23) available daily at the gate, children 14 and under are free with paid adult. Weekend passes at the gate are $50, daily tickets are $30.
The festival will take place rain or shine. Lawn chairs and blankets are welcomed for festival seating, no carry-ins will be allowed. All times are Eastern and lineup is subject to change.
