Calendar – Films/Documentaries – Late Night Film Series to Screen “Carol” – Aug. 8

Marquette – The late night film series, “And the Winner Is…” will offer a screening of the romantic drama “Carol” on Monday, August 8 at 7 p.m. in the Community Room of the Peter White Public Library.

Set in 1950’s New York, a Manhattan department store clerk aspires to a more fulfilling life as a photographer. She meets Carol, an alluring woman trapped in a loveless, convenient marriage. As an immediate connection sparks between the two women of very different backgrounds, the innocence of their first encounter dims and their connection deepens.

The film is rated R and runs for 113 minutes. Viewers are welcome to bring their own refreshments and enjoy the movie in a dinner theater setting.
