Marquette – In recognition of May as Mental Health Awareness month, Your Mind Matters wiill host an evening session on mindfulness with a Walking Mediation led by Melissa Middleton on Monday, May 23 at 7 p.m. in the Shiras Room of the Peter White Public Library.
Participants are invited to experience the mind-body practice of
walking meditation. This presentation will include a brief instruction
in seated breath awareness meditation and the principles of
mindfulness.
Anxiety, stress, depression exhaustion, pain and irritability all
decrease with regular sessions of mindfulness mediation. Memory
improves, reaction times become faster and mental and physical stamina
increase.
There is no admission charge to attend the program and no advanced registration is required. This presentation is part of Your Mind Matters, a community dialog on mental health issues sponsored by a coalition of community groups and the Peter White Public Library.
