Marquette – Northern Michigan University’s music department will showcase the talent of senior Abbie Beekman, vocalist, on Saturday, April 2 at 5 p.m. in Reynolds Recital Hall in the C.B. Hedgecock Building.
Beekman is a double major in public relations and music, with a concentration in vocal music. She is from Oconto, Wis. When she arrived at Northern, she received the National Academic Award, NMU Recognition Award and the Leadership Scholarship. Beekman is involved in several campus organizations, including Superior Edge, the Student Leader Fellowship Program and NMU’s chapter of the Public Relations Student Society of America. She will be graduating summa cum laude this spring and is also the class soloist for commencement.
